Your employees are one of the biggest assets of your business. Locating and retaining quality employees is an ongoing job. All businesses experience some amount of employee turnover and depending upon the employee that leaves, turnover may not be the worst thing. However, too much turnover can affect the productivity and morale of other employees as well as effect the operation and performance of your business.
As an owner or manager, there are a few things you can do to lessen the turnover rate:
- Encourage communication. Listen to your employees’ suggestions and opinions and if they are good, act on them.
- Provide opportunity for your employees to reach their full potential and take more pride in their work. Train, motivate and reward them for a job well done.
